On the Ultra-Trail® of Angkor, you have four options : from running 16 km to a maximum length of 128 km. Be aware that it is not the length of a stage makes the beauty of a race : But, that’s what surrounds this race.

You may know that you will run in climatic conditions that you do not experience in Europe at this time of year. It will be hot, but not excessively and January, you will not be bothered by the humidity.

1. Why SDPO ?

A race organized for runners by runners around the world , was the ambition of Jean Claude Le Cornec , founder of the “Foulées de la soie” in 1996 (first raid organized in China by SDPO). Since then, our organization offers to run and travel around the world in countries or regions with their history. You will through the most diverse landscapes, off the beaten track

2. What is the required level?

 Our sports trips are open to everyone. From the top athlete, experienced in local/national/international competitions, to the Sunday morning joggers. All will be there for discoveries and to combine the pleasure of physical effort and the cultural curiosities.

No age, condition and performance are required to share these moments of escape (40% of our registered each year are women). Juniors or veterans (17 to 74 years), confirmed runner or not, will leave this journey with inundated dreams and emotions.

3 / Is there a marked physical preparation, special training ?

Competitors will run according to the option chosen : 16 km, 32 km, 42 km, 64 km or 128 km, requiring endurance and recovery qualities.  They must assume the requirement of intensive training over several months , without also omit some dietary rules to support this preparation combining Effort, Fighting, Endurance, and Groundwork.

Training is very focused on the amount of work (total kilometers), but the quality of work should not be overlooked either

For others, the pleasure of a sports trip in the most unusual countries, and avoid the rigidity of traditional tour and the discomfort of a solo trip in an unknown land.

A month before the event, SDPO will address you a very comprehensive document showing both your cultural and sporting route. You will also see an attached detailed list of obligatory content material, and the Camel-back, we remind you that you must wear a cap during the race.
